Selecting the Right Electric Infrared Heater for Your Application
The SW (short wave) Series is the most popular electric infrared heater for commercial/industrial or outdoor applications. The infrared short wave is the most effective at getting the heat to the source or patrons underneath. Short wave bulbs tend to have a longer life of about 5,000 hours. The draw back to the short wave style of heaters is that they have a more intense lighting effect while in operation.
The MW (medium wave) Series is very popular when a less intense lighting effect is desired for commercial/industrial or outdoor applications. The Medium Wave is not as quite effective at getting the heat to the source underneath. The medium wave bulbs have a lower life expectancy of about 2,000 hours.
The BAH(medium wave) Series is an economical and sensible model for commercial indoor applications. This model is not suitable for outdoor type applications.
The available voltage and amperage are the main variables when determining what heater sizes will meet the application needs. When single phase electricity is being used the two-bulb models are very popular for desired redundancy. When 3-phase electricity is available, the three-bulb models are very popular because each bulb of the heater can be wired per phase.
